THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS TRULY MATTER IS THE MOMENTS THEY CAPTURE.
BOTTLING UP THAT NOSTALGIA IS MY GREATEST HONOUR.
If we're being honest, and by all means, let's. Wedding photos don't matter bccause they're taken in perfect light or with amazingly complex techniques. They matter because the moment mattered that's in the photo.
The only reason what I do is important is because I deeply believe marriage is important. I wan't to participate in giving you momentus images that drive your minds and hearts back to the moments that matter.
This stuff over here *motions to the left* This is what it's all about for me.
These magic moments. Unscripted, unruly, messy hair, ain't care moments.
And for the record. Every single one of these couples described themselves as "camera shy" and "we're not photo people." I absolutely love photographing
in a way that gives you freedom to play and connect on your wedding day
and let you look back on photos and remember actual moments, not
awkward poses you were forced into.
It doesn't matter if you're getting married on a mountain in the Gold Coast hinterland or in the backyard of your airbnb on the Tweed coast or maybe you're eloping in Byron bay on the water.
If you want photos that tell the actual story of the day rather than something that we stole off Pinterest and copied. Then I might just be the photographer you've been looking for.
HOW DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?
CAN YOU RECOMMEND A TRUSTED VIDEOGRAPHER?
I take a very limited amount of commissions each year and try to always say yes to jobs where I feel a connection to the story I'm telling. If I don't think I am the right fit for your wedding I will happily refer you to someone who I think will do the best job for you. Because of this I place a real importance on hearing some of your story and meeting up face to face before we go ahead with any official paperwork etc.
ABSOLUTELY. A good working relationship with your photographer and videographer makes a huge difference to how both your wedding photos and wedding video turn out. I have a number of great Gold Coast wedding videographer connections who I recommend to my couples that are unobtrusive, relaxed and make incredible wedding videos.
HOW LONG AFTER THE WEDDING DO WE GET TO SEE OUR PHOTOS?
DO YOU CHARGE FOR TRAVEL?
Your photos will be delivered in an online gallery approximately 4-6 weeks after your wedding date and a little bit sooner for elopements. Your gallery is only available to people who have the link. It's shareable with family and friends. And also doubles as an easy place to order prints, frames, calendars etc with your photographs and have them shipped right to your door.
As a Gold Coast wedding photographer I don't charge for travel for Brisbane weddings, Toowoomba weddings, Byron Bay Weddings or Anywhere that falls within a 2 hour driving range of home. I love shooting country weddings and in remote and random locations so I try to make travel as simple as possible for my couples who are having weddings out in the country or interstate. For weddings where I need to jump on a plane I usually require the cost of the flight plus 2 nights accomodation & a hire car. Every location is different so contact me to find out exact travel costs.
DO WE NEED TO BE PHOTOGENIC TO HAVE GOOD WEDDING PHOTOS?
DEFINITELY NOT! Sometimes the most "photogenic people" are super hard to photograph because they think they know "their angles" really well and can't act natural. The best way to guarantee your wedding photos are amazing and natural looking are to forget about the camera and have fun with your person. I'm an expert at making you forget I'm there and helping you (where needed) to loosen up and just have fun together.
A FEW CURATED THOUGHTS ABOUT MYSELF TO MAKE MYSELF SEEM MORE EMPLOYABLE
I'm a recent import to the Gold Coast having spent most of my life living in NSW. I'm one of 6 kids! I'm a husband to Tessa, I have been photographing weddings for over 10 years now, which for someone with A.D.D feels like a solid commitment to one thing.
It's a pretty exciting challenge to pick up and start again. I'm super excited to now be able to photograph weddings from Brisbane to Byron bay even though I'll be on a plane most weekends for NSW weddings for the next little while.
Here's a few odds and ends of some of my life: my half homeland egypt, my fierce wife & of course me setting things on fire, (sometimes for work, often not. notable absentee's include my motorbike & a cup of coffee.
I would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the beautiful land on which I am blessed to be able to live and work. The indigenous first nations peoples of Australia Particularly the Bundjalung & Yugerra peoples. I pay my respects to their elders, past, present and emerging.
